Wanderers Under 6's Unluckily Lose Out on Place in Finall of Kieran Burke Memorial.

Wanderers FC Under 6's

Wanderers Under 6's unluckily lost out on a place in the final of the Kieran Burke Memorial competition held in DLSP last weekend. This is the largest rugby event for the U6 and U7 age groups in the country. Having defeated Lansdowne & Terenure and receiving a walkover from the hosts they faced Blackrock in the semi final. The game finished 1 try a-piece and extra time did not produce any more scores. A toss of a coin to determine who went through to the final unfortunately went the way of the opposition !

Incidentally, the team contained three grandson's of former Presidents of WFC - Hugo Hesiterkamp (grandson of Jack Hayes - President 1980/81); Jamie Metchette (grandson of Frank - President 1982/83) and Ben Brownlee (grandson of Brian - President 1997/98).

Another grandson of an ex President, Charley Greeley (grandson of Cormac - President 1996/97) was part of the U7 squad in the same tournament.
